Trail Camera Over Elk Carcass Captures Opportunistic Bear

This guy encountered an elk cow that had recently died, so he set up a trail camera.

It's always interesting to use trail cameras to get a glimpse of what happens in the wild when you're not around. This man had the opportunity to do just that when he discovered a fresh elk carcass in Washington.

Before you watch, can you guess what animals he got video of?

Watch the video below:

Seeing the coyote, the vultures, and all those bugs wasn't surprising at all, but it was particularly interesting to see how much time that bear spent eating the elk. Perhaps the bear killed it?

It's also possible the bear just happened to find the elk after it died from something else. Bears are particularly hungry for protein this time of year after they come out of hibernation, so that bear was likely hanging out nearby to make sure nothing else stole the elk!
