This Vanmar Taxidermy Mount Will Blow Your Mind

Vance Montgomery

Vance Montgomery of Vanmar Taxidermy has outdone himself with this mount, and he plans to go even bigger next year.

This piece has:
  • 3 blue gill
  • 5 gizzard shad
  • 5 crappie
  • 1 nine-and-a-half-pound large-mouth bass (under the water)
  • 1 ten-pound largemouth coming though the water jumping after a big bullfrog.

The best part about it is that this piece of taxidermy is all replicas.

Vance Montgomery grew up hunting and fishing, and today, he has become a household name in the outdoor industry who is also recognized for his taxidermy talents. While Archie Phillips was still developing the world’s largest selection of replica molds, Montgomery and his brother were guiding bass and waterfowl.

“I love creating special pieces like this one,” says Montgomery. “I haven’t competed in taxidermy in several years, but plan on doing a very special piece in 2017 that I hope to go win with at the highest level. Masters of masters division at the world show. It will be a awesome Challenge to win, but I know I am doing the best work of my career. It’s time to make it happen. I love what I do so much, it’s fun getting to make a living at something you love.”
