Ronnie Van Zant is often remembered as the hard-rocking frontman of Lynyrd Skynyrd, but the singer’s fishing story will have you rolling with laughter.
If you’ve been fishing at least a handful of times, chances are, you’ve probably got a funny fishing story. The more times you go and the more difficult the trips, generally, the funnier the stories get.
That definitely seems to be the case with Ronnie Van Zant, who was not only the frontman for southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd but was also an avid fisherman.
This story comes to us from Tom Dowd, who was a record producer for many years and worked many hours with Van Zant while producing the band’s first records. It’s always great to hear about these people who we look up to and know that their fishing stories might not be much different from our own.
