This Antique Yacht Cannon is Just Too Cool

Need to get attention over at the yacht club?

Just fire this antique cannon, and we are certain you will.

Youtuber cannoncollector has quite an interesting piece of boating equipment from a past century to share. It is an antique yacht cannon.

Back many years ago, a signal cannon on a boat would be almost commonplace for yachts and larger vessels. This signal cannon made by the Naval Company is all brass and quite a looker. It was originally chambered for a 4 gauge short blank shell but was sleeved down to a more available 12 gauge blank cartridge. Pull a cord and the actual striker hammer flips up and nails the firing pin. Boom then goes your signal cannon and all your boating buddies ready the dock for you.

We wonder how many heads would turn if this neat cannon was mounted on our boats today.
