Why You Should Think Twice Before Using a Master Lock for Gun Storage

break a Master Lock

Apparently all it takes to break a Master Lock are a few taps with a hammer.

So you just locked up your rifle case with a good, old-fashioned heavy duty Master Lock padlock. That means that it is safe right? Not so fast. All it would take for someone to break into your rifle case is a few good taps with a small hammer.

Don’t believe me? Then check out the video below to see just how easy it is to break a Master Lock.

The fact that it is apparently very easy to break a Master Lock without any special tools or knowledge is very disconcerting indeed. The heavy metal construction and satisfying clicking sound upon locking make many of us believe that breaking a Master Lock would take a lot of effort. It could maybe be opened with a pair of bolt cutters or a cutting torch.

Instead, a simple brass hammer striking the lock in the right place is enough to pop it open. That really is quite a shocking revelation.

The only good thing about this information is if you happen to lose a key and you need to break a Master Lock to get into whatever is locked up. Let’s all just make sure to only use the hammer tactic for good!
