Want to learn more about the new Henry Small Game Rifle chambered in .22 Magnum? You came to the right place.
The Henry Small Game Rifle is one of the newest models offered by the Henry Repeating Arms Company. Offered in .22 Long Rifle and .22 Magnum, the Small Game Rifles and Carbines are (as their names would suggest) marketed specifically for small game hunters who want a good quality lever action rifle. The Henry Repeating Arms Company was kind enough to send us a Small Game Rifle chambered in .22 Magnum for evaluation.

All in all, I think the Henry Small Game Rifle is an excellent firearm. There is just something about holding a lever action rifle that makes you feel like you’re holding onto a true piece of Americana and it’s hard not to dream about chasing cottontail rabbits and squirrels with it in the woods.
For most hunters, the .22 Long Rifle version of the either the Henry Small Game Rifle or Carbine will likely adequately fulfill your small game hunting needs. The .22 Magnum is certainly a step up in performance over the .22 Long Rifle, but whether it is really worth the extra cost of the rifle and ammunition is something you’ll have to decide for yourself. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the rifle and how easy it was for me to reach out and hit targets nearly 200 yards away with that hot little .22 Magnum cartridge.
If you’re looking for a nice lever action small game rifle that is befitting of the good Henry name and reputation, then you should really consider getting a Henry Small Game Rifle. I’m quite pleased with mine and I’m really looking forward to testing it out on some small game when hunting season opens this fall.
