The Gustav Cannon was a heavy 1350-ton cannon was a Nazi German invention in the late 1930s. This super cannon was made to lay waste to the French Maginot Line fortifications. It was not used for that siege though. It was employed against the Soviet army on the Eastern Front with horrific effects.

The world’s largest gun certainly was a fearsome sight to all targeted by it. It’s memory in military history stands as a testament to cannon design that has echoed through the decades since World War II.
