At 2,300 lumens, is the FlashTorch Mini a flashlight, a laser, or just full of steam?
Wicked Lasers makes some crazy cool-looking flashlights and lasers, but are they all they’re purported to be? They say that “The FlashTorch Mini is the world’s smallest burning flashlight. It’s capable of producing an incredible 2,300 lumens of intense white light. Use this power to guide your way home, light a fire, or even fry an egg!”
Watch their own promotional video for this flaming torch of a flashlight and get your questions ready.
First, the good part is, this would be a great item for a bug out bag. If it really does all the things that they say it does (and there’s no reason to believe otherwise) then this is a tool with many uses.
Second, no matter how you look at it, 2,300 lumens is roughly the same output as a 150-watt incandescent light bulb, which by the way is still pretty bright. If it can burn paper, melt plastic, or cook an egg, then it has to be kept out of reach of children and used responsibly.
Even the company’s own YouTube page calls it the FlashTorch Mini ‘Firestarter.’ Well, guess what? Matches are dangerous in the wrong hands, too. Bottom line is this can be a great tool when used in the correct context.
