The Motor City Madman fires a metaphorical flaming arrow at Verizon for dropping the Sportsman Channel and rips into political correctness.
As famous for his unfiltered opinions as he is for his blistering guitar playing, Ted Nugent laid into both Verizon and the modern “self-inflicted scourge of political correctness” recently on the Dana Loesch show, “Dana.”
Verizon FiOS TV dropped Sportsman Channel earlier this month. Verizon cited low viewership as the reason for its decision.
“When Verizon drops Sportsman Channel,” said Nugent, “but keeps Al Jazeera, Alfred E. Neuman wouldn’t print that in Mad Magazine because it’s too stupid. Sportsman Channel celebrates real conservation. Their reverence for God’s annual bounty. The meat, the protein, the sport, the trophy, the fun! The sustenance that it provides. It’s literally the last perfect environmentalism available to mankind. And they canned it?! Are you kidding me?”
Other notable declarations from Uncle Ted:
Political correctness is against hunting. Political correctness…the lie, the self-inflicted scourge of political correctness, the dishonesty of political correctness, is against everything that you and I stand for: freedom, independence, rugged-individualism, self-sufficiency, hunting, fishing, trapping, taking advantage of God’s annual harvest.
The only way political correctness can defy honesty and self evident truth, is when we the people allow it to happen. …The free society needs to learn to speak up, because you’re only as free as you earn your freedom. …What is our job as “We the people”? To raise hell! To demand accountability from our government.
