Here are some great tips on teaching kids fly casting to put them on one of the greatest outdoors activities that will last a lifetime.

Those are some very good points on starting kids out in fly fishing. There is really no point using a bunch of technical jargon when instructing kids. It is all about breaking it down into simple mechanics and keeping it fun.

Short interesting lessons are the way to go with children to keep and hold their interest. It will all payoff when they bring in that first fish on a fly rod.

If you really want to get them started right consider enrolling them in an ORVIS 101 class with their certified instructors at an ORVIS school. This is what I did with my son and daughter and it really laid the foundations to make them solid fly anglers.
