Tarpon in Florida Gets Hooked, Jumps Out of Water Onto Dock to Get Away [VIDEO]

Never doubt what a tarpon will do once you hook it. Here’s one that jumped right out of the water and onto a dock to escape.

Tarpon like to jump; they really like to jump. When you hook one, they pretty much launch into orbit to unhook themselves.

Here’s one fish that’s trying something new: climb out of the water and hide on a nearby dock.

Tarpon are one of the most fun fish to target for Florida anglers and the canals of Satellite Beach are a great place to start looking for them.

It’s fun to think that our quarry, whatever it may be, might have the mind-set to escape our hook by some means like jumping out onto a dock.

Game fish have been defeating us in new and interesting ways since we began fishing, and tarpon are no exception. Leave it to the mad leaper of the Florida canals to find a new way to exit laughing.
