Hunting in northern Ontario for the many species of grouse that live there can be a great thing for some, and a big surprise to others.
If you’ve never seen a grouse hunt with a small caliber rifle before, this is what it looks like and how productive it can be.
While some “traditional” grouse hunters in the lower forty-eight can get a little stiff in the lip watching this, grouse hunting in Canada and parts of the northern U.S. use this method all the time.
You certainly have some work to do to get into the cover and find the birds.
When the end result is what they put on the grill at the end, sign me up!
Still, some folks out there think that you may not hunt these birds without a scatter gun and a good dog.
I just wonder if, thousands of years ago, one native tribe heckled the other for shooting arrows at them and not using a snare like they did.
As long as you’re observing all game laws, throw rocks at ‘em if you want.
