Break up your day right with a hot Italian venison sandwich.
If you are having a rough day at work, just take a well-deserved break and eat a hot Italian venison sandwich. It will turn your day around real quick.
According to Miss Homemade, it’s all about the dressing in an Italian sandwich and she claims hers is the best.
See if she’s right.
- 2 lb venison roast (for two sandwiches)
- 4 TBS Homemade Italian Salad Dressing Mix
- Bouillon Beef Base
- 16 oz jar Pepperoncini peppers
To make her dressing you need:
- 1-1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 TBS onion powder
- 2 TBS oregano
- 1 TBS parsley
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 TBS white sugar
- 1 TBS kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried celery leaves or flakes
Mix all the dressing ingredients together with:
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 2 TBS water
Fill your Crock-pot 1/2 full with water, add the beef bouillon and the jar of peppers. Add the venison roast and put four tablespoons of the Italian dressing. Cook on high for seven hours, or until the roast begins to fall apart. Shred the meat and put on your choice of bread with some sauteed greed peppers, onion, tomato and your choice of cheese.
Oh my…who can have a bad day after that?
