In the 1820s, frontiersman Hugh Glass was mauled by a bear and left for dead by his companions.
“The Revenant” is based on this man’s true story of survival and vengeance in the early American wilderness.
Looks like it’ll be a pretty crazy movie.
Life on the early American frontier sure was rough, wasn’t it? It looks like this movie should give a good taste of what that experience was like. It sounds like a wild story!
“The Revenant” (which means “a person who has returned, especially supposedly from the dead”) stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Hugh Glass and Tom Hardy as one of his companions John Fitzgerald, who leaves him for dead after a bear attack.
All are real historical figures in the American West. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, who just won three Oscars for “Birdman” last year, it should make for an interesting film.
From the trailer and descriptions of the movie, it certainly sounds like a crazy survival story. Those early American frontiersmen were tough as nails weren’t they?
