If only we, as hunters, could blend in like the owls do! Owls are mostly solitary birds, many of which breed in winter.
Since so many species of owl are nocturnal hunters, it begs the question: why so much camouflage? This answer surely must lie in their ability to disappear during the day and pounce on their prey from the same location over and over.
