The Mars Automatic Pistol was the magnum of the early 1900s.

This ultra rare semi-automatic pistol shot some hot-loaded cartridges.

Watch and learn about the predecessor to our modern magnum pistols.

Sir Hugh Gabbett-Fairfax of England was well ahead of his time. Back in 1898 he came up with a magnum semi-automatic pistol. His design shot four different powerful cartridges of his design.

These pistols never went into commercial production and there were only 81 ever made. This video examines two of these rare pistols.

Heavy recoil, complexity and size just did them in and they faded into history. They were only made from 1898 to 1907.
