Stranded Snowmobilers Spend Night in Alpine County Wilderness

When Zachary Bradgon, Joshua Seidel, and a friend decided to snowmobile Ebbetts Pass in Alpine County, Calif., they were looking for a new experience.

Bradgon and Seidel weren’t expecting to spend the night in the wilderness.

The following California Highway Patrol (CHP) video shows the search and rescue from the helicopter.

According to the CHP, the snowmobilers got stuck because the snow was deeper than expected.

Bradgon and Seidel explored a canyon while their friend remained near a parking lot. After getting stuck, the two men knew they didn’t have enough supplies to reach the parking lot. They had the right clothing and equipment, so they stayed put for the night.

Bradgon and Seidel’s friend didn’t have keys to their vehicle, so he managed to get a ride and call for help for his friends, says CHP.
