Steven Rinella, one of the country’s most recognizable hunting personalities, spoke recently at UW-Madison on what hunting and conservation means to him.

In this edited video of Rinella’s presentation, he speaks about what hunting meant to him as a boy, and the philosophical and ethical value of wildlife.

He also answers an audience member’s question about trophy hunting and the misunderstanding it often engenders.

Rinella’s presentation was part of a public event sponsored by the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), titled “The Land Ethic Reclaimed: Perceptive Hunting, Aldo Leopold, and Conservation,” which was offered by UW-Madison from Jan. 26 – Feb 22, 2015.
