Snakeheads on the Go: Shorefishing for Mudfish

snakehead

Catching snakeheads off the shore with a bait-casting rig will put a smile on anyone’s face.

With a nice set of bait-casting gear in one hand and some great water in front of you, all you need is for the fish to cooperate.

When you’re fishing in waters that naturally hold “mudfish,” hang on, because they hit hard and peel the drag like this one!

Enjoy a quick look at how these gnarly fish attack a bait and fight to the death:

Snakeheads are native to some areas of Asia, such as Thailand, for instance. In the U.S., they are well known as an invasive species and need to be eradicated.

If they weren’t so aggressive and deadly to native species here, we might even stock them! Would you fish for these wildly aggressive fighting fish if you had the chance?
