SilencerCo Goes Back to the ’80s to Launch Futuristic Maxim 9

What do a white suit, a sports car, a hot babe, five o’clock shadow, and synthesizer music have in common?

A fully integrated silenced pistol. No, seriously. Take a look.

That’s right. SilencerCo hits almost every ’80s action movie and TV trope to launch Maxim 9, an integrally suppressed 9 mm semiautomatic handgun with a 15-round magazine, to “fight the noise.”

The Maxim 9 uses Smith & Wesson’s M&P platform, and the company says that owners will be able to put the pistol in a holster. In addition, the company says the Maxim 9 will be hearing-safe with any factory ammunition when it hits the market next year.

However, as for the ’80s apparel you have tucked away in the closet, that safety remains to be seen.
