Here is how to confidently sight in your deer rifle for this season rifle opener.
The chances of a miss, or worse, wounding a deer and losing it, go up exponentially if your gun does not shoot true and you have not practiced with it.
Even if it was grouped last year, your scope may have been knocked out of true alignment. I just went out this last weekend to my local gun club and made sure my rifle is still dialed in.
Here is a great video from Texas Parks and Wildlife that gives all the basic steps to getting your rifle grouped in, starting at the 25-yard range line and moving back to the 100-yard line.
That is a good practical video to ensure we all go out with our deer rifles dialed in to confidently harvest a buck or doe.
A trip to the range and some basic steps will make sure that your optics and rifle can make those shots every deer season.
Good shooting and best of luck harvesting venison for the winter.
