Shooting the World War II Colt 1911A1 pistol is like taking a trip through history and proves why Browning’s design has stood the test of time.
Watch as the host of Cap and Ball does some shooting of a vintage World War II Colt 1911A1 pistol and gives a quick history of this storied firearm.
A great snapshot of the history of the 1911 with some demos that show the accuracy of this vintage World War II gun.
The 1911 is still a very popular pistol and it is one of my personal favorites. While you can find endless articles that compare and rate them against more modern gun designs, especially 9mm handguns, it remains one of the best selling firearms in the U.S.
I think the reason for this is that it is a great design that stands the test of time and it also links you back to our predecessors who relied on this gun through thick and thin. Sure there are a lot of more modern pistols that have higher mag capacities and may make more sense in different carry situations but the 1911 will remain strong for collectors, shooters, veterans and First Responders.
Consider adding it to your collection if you don’t have a 1911 already With the recent resurgence of Colt, they have released a new line of these historic firearms with modern updates.
