Who would have thought a Mosin-Nagant could look so cool?
Check out this video from Alex Smyth as he fires his steampunk-inspired Mosin Nagant rifle at the range. Steampunk is a genre of science fiction that focuses on steam-powered machinery.
The gun in this video was inspired by that setting and the artistic style born from steampunk.

For this project, Smyth started with a destroyed Mosin-Nagant M44 carbine rifle chambered in 7.62x54R. Once he was finished, the gun featured a brass knuckle vertical foregrip, a saw blade bayonet, a functional red dot sight and a shock-absorbing stock. In fact, you may notice in the video that Smyth remarks on how the rifle has no recoil.
If you have ever fired a Mosin-Nagant, then you know that no recoil is one impressive feat. Especially on a carbine with a 16” barrel.
Smyth definitely has one cool-looking rifle on his hands with this one. The Mosin-Nagant is a common and affordable rifle that it is the perfect platform to make a custom build on.
Steampunk style can be an acquired taste but you have to admit, this is one sweet-looking rifle.
