Did you know Russia also had a semi-automatic rifle in World War II? It was quite a bit faster than the bolt-action Mosin-Nagant.

The United States was not the only nation to arm the troops with a full-sized, semi-automatic rifle in World War II. Russia issued the SVT 38 and then the improved version, named the SVT 40, which could fire those powerful cartridges quickly.
