Sharp-Shooting Warden Saves the Life of a Locked Buck in Nebraska

locked buck

This Nebraskan game warden used a gun on a buck to save its life.

We’ve seen plenty of locked-up buck rescues over the years. Most, if not all, show the heroes wielding a saw or some other cutting device to free the stuck deer. That was not the case for George, the Nebraskan game warden who pulled out his long gun to get the job done right.

The incredible rescue happened along the Republican River in southern Nebraska. A family stumbled upon a pair of locked bucks in the water, one already deceased. After pulling them out to dry land, George and his trusty gun came to the rescue.

Here’s the cool footage of that perfectly placed shot:

George was one cool cucumber, wasn’t he? A quick pic with his point-and-shoot camera and he gets straight down to business. This is one game warden who surely excelled at the shooting range.

Nice shot, George, and thanks for doing all that you do. That beautiful buck owes his life to your act of kindness.
