Shark Rescued from Fishing Hooks by Beachgoers

USA Today

A shark in Hawaii caught a huge break when beachgoers noticed fishing line and hooks in the shark’s mouth and cut it free.

The incident was caught on video as beachgoers pulled a shark from the surf in Hawaii. They noticed something was off about it, and thank goodness they did.

They began to work, cutting the fishing hooks and line away from its mouth.

In light of the recent trend of tourists taking selfies with animals, leading to their deaths, it’s amazing to see this kind of care and compassion given to an animal that is widely perceived as a dangerous killer.

The men even show the camera the large hook in the shark’s mouth afterwards and it serves as a good reminder to not just leave hooks in the mouths of live animals, especially while fishing.
