Here’s a shark fishing story unlike any you’ve heard before.
It was one buck’s lucky day when a shark fisherman and his buddies came to the rescue after they found the deer six miles from shore in Long Island Sound between New York and Connecticut. They got to the lost buck just as it was beginning to lose strength in the cold waters.
So an impromptu rescue plan was hatched to get the buck back to shore.
Obviously, Rob Kurdy and his buddy have never seen anything quite like this in the sound before. Fortunately the men were able to get a rope around the buck’s antlers and tow him safely to shore. Some nearby people were able to supply some blankets and the even though it took almost three hours, the buck finally warmed up and ran off none the worse for wear.
“It’s a life,” Kurdy told WTNH News 8. “I’m not going to let him drown. He was out in the middle of nowhere, shivering and freezing, so we all said, we just can’t let it drown. It was the right thing to do.”
One thing is for sure, these guys certainly have one of the more unique shark fishing stories one will ever hear. “You’re never gonna believe what we caught shark fishing,” Kurdy told the station. “No one’s gonna believe this story, it’s a true fisherman’s story.”
It’s a good thing they caught the whole incident on camera for the world to see!
