The Secret Lives of Mountain Lions, as Captured By Trail Cameras

mountain lion

This is the kind of mountain lion footage you don’t see very often.

Mountain lions are generally shy and secretive animals. But National Geographic has spent some time using trail cameras to capture some amazing footage that sheds some light on that secrecy.

It’s a fascinating look at the family dynamics of these large cats. Check it out.

This is some pretty awesome video National Geographic has captured. Little by little, researchers are learning more and more about these big cats. I never knew mountain lion families were such close-knit groups. It’s also an unfortunate look at the cruelty of nature and how difficult life can be for these big cats.

Just when we think we know everything about nature, surprising new things like the male mountain lion re-visiting the mother and offspring or the mother adopting kittens are revealed. Pretty cool stuff.
