The world’s best water photographer seemingly turns waves and swelling seas into solid sculpture.
Artist photographer Ray Collins has been called the world’s best water photographer. This set of 13 images from his Seascapes series is stunningly beautiful and technically brilliant. Collins is able to not simply freeze time or capture the wave or ocean swell at the most opportune time, but he also seems gifted with a magic to make liquid appear as ancient stone, iron or kryptonite, substances with fearsome power and otherworldly dynamism.
Vaughan Blakey, of Surfing World Magazine, said of Collins, “Ray either displays a fierce dedication to his craft, or he is a complete lunatic.”
