This cute sea slug looks just like a miniature bunny!
When most people think of slugs they don’t picture anything close to cute in their minds. The sea slug Jorunna parva, or “sea bunnies” might just change that.
They look exactly like tiny, fluffy rabbits crawling across the ocean floor. They are currently being sent are the Internet in a viral hurricane, especially in Japan.
There are currently 16 different species known to exist. The first species was discovered in 1804.
They come in a wide variety of colors and are only about 2 cm long.
They are found on the ocean floor and reefs from the Sea of Japan to the Mediterranean Sea.
Their “bunny ears” are actually scent glands called rhinophores. They use them to detect chemicals in the water as they travel around.
The various sea bunnies can be fuzzy, spiky, or even covered in spots.
People just can’t seem to resist the little guys, and who knows, they may even become the newest pet trend.
