Vampire squirrels are a real possibility. At least that’s what researchers in Borneo are considering.

The truth is, there might actually be a real squirrel species that acts like a vampire and feeds off deer.

These vampire squirrels are said to creep on the lower branches that hang near unsuspecting deer. Once the deer gets close enough, the squirrel latches on. When the deer has lost enough blood and perishes, the squirrel eats the internal organs it is after.

These squirrels are rarely seen, but there are other documented species that are carnivorous and eat small birds, so why not a vampire squirrel?
