San Francisco Humpbacks Captured on Video Feeding Against City Skyline

These kayakers did not expect to see this!

In a rare video circulating out of California, a group of kayakers captured a pod of San Francisco humpback whales feeding in a once-in-a-lifetime area. These whales are normally seen in the bay, but this time it was the location that mattered. As you are about to see, these humpbacks put on a show with the whole city in the background. Pretty cool stuff.

Normally, this sort of thing happens in Alaska! However, every now and then things line up and we get something as cool as this right here in the mainland. Granted, San Francisco is surrounded by water and humpbacks are a normal thing, but timing is everything.

This video has been hitting home with a lot of viewers since it was published to social media. Just this clip alone from the AP already has over 13,000 views. It’s easy to see why.

Videos like the above only go to show why it’s necessary to keep a camera or at least a cellphone on you at all times. You just never know when you are going to capture nature in a once-in-a-lifetime viewing opportunity.
