One look at Sam’s hunting and fishing artwork will reveal his true passion and skill.
Creating wonderful hunting and fishing artwork with nothing but a pencil and a piece of paper is what Sam Milazzo does with his spare time. Now, if you’re asking yourself who Sam Milazzo is, let me fill you in with his neat backstory and showcase a few of his pieces for you.
In 1978, Sam was born at Fisherman’s Hospital on Marathon Key. As you can imagine, he has spent his fair share of time on the water chasing fins. At age 15, he got a few gigs working on local charter boats and eventually ended up getting his captain’s license in 2000.
“Fishing has been good to me, but after a back surgery and some really bad knees, I am looking to do something a little more laid-back in order to financially support myself and my 3 1/2 year-old son, ” says Sam.
“I’ve always had a passion for drawing, but was not very good at it until my senior year when my art teacher Mrs Young began to teach me how to shade with a pencil. That pretty much unlocked an ability to bring things to life on paper.”
Over the next 20 years, Sam pursued his passion for artwork and continued to create pieces for friends and family along the way.
According to Sam, he has not stopped progressing as an artist over the years, and he’s now putting himself out there by offering his art services and completed drawings for sale.
“I do have a passion for it, but stay very humble by appreciating the ability other artists possess,” said Sam.
This last piece by Sam is one of my favorites!
