Of all the things you don’t want to forget in a rental car, an AR-15 is one of them.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported that Lauren Tannehill, the wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, accidentally left her husband’s AR-15 in the backseat of a car they rented this January.

The next person to rent the car, vacationer Judith Fleissig, 58, found the AR-15 in a case in a folded down compartment in the backseat of the car. Fleissig told the Sun Sentinel about her experience finding the gun.

“We got out of the car, we were kind of freaked out,” Fleissig told the Sun Sentinel. “I took a picture, zipped it back up and went to the police station. They came out and took it. I thought, ‘This vacation is getting better and better.”

SB Nation tweeted a picture of the AR-15 in the case.

Bleacher Report reported that the AR-15 is legally registered to Ryan. The Tannehills reportedly called the cab company once they realized the gun was missing, but didn’t want to specify what was in the bag.

In the end, the Tannehills got their AR-15 back from the car rental company. Local police realized Lauren had made an honest mistake, and they are not pressing any criminal charges against the Tannenhills.

Lauren will probably be scouring the next car she rents to make sure this same mistake doesn’t happen twice.
