Watch What Happens When This Rhodesian Ridgeback Goes After An Elephant Herd In South Africa

A Rhodesian Ridgeback is a common breed of hunting dog in much of southern Africa. Check out what happens when one goes after an elephant herd.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are known for being very brave, loyal, intelligent, and dependable hunting dogs. As a result, the Rhodesian Ridgeback is a very popular hunting and tracking dog and have even been used for hunting lions.

Check out the video to see what happens when this Rhodesian Ridgeback decides to test his mettle on a herd of elephants.

Though I admire his bravery, I think the hunting dog made a good choice. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor and had he continued on, he would have literally bitten off more than he could chew.

That particular Rhodesian Ridgeback looks like quite the hunting dog though: strong, fast, and with a good nose, yet smart enough to avoid an unwinnable situation.
