The wrist area of a hard kicking long gun is in danger of breaking.
Larry Potterfield of Midway USA knows how to keep this from happening.

Master gunsmith Larry Potterfield has an answer for an age old question. The question is how do you reinforce the wrist area of a long gun stock? This area is ultimately the thinnest and runs the risk of cracking due to large caliber heavy recoil.
Larry measures the spot where reinforcement is most needed. Then he takes a threaded steel rod and inserts it into a drilled hole. After the rod is inserted two part epoxy holds it in place for good.
