Potential All-Tackle Record Yellowmargin Triggerfish Caught in Pacific

Here’s your likely all-tackle record yellowmargin triggerfish.

Pang Kim Lock caught this amazing yellowmargin triggerfish on November 5 in the Christmas Islands, and it’s probably going to take over the top spot for the largest all-tackle record for the species.

The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) recognized the catch in their monthly photo gallery recap, which weighed 12 pounds, 6 ounces. That will more than double the previous record.

The Christmas Islands are one of the few places on Earth where fishermen can target triggerfish on the flats. The Singaporean angler released the fish after it was documented, and is awaiting confirmation of the record.
