The world record spotted bass might not be as big as its cousins, but this one is huge!
The spotted bass is undeniably not as popular as the smallmouth or the largemouth, but don’t fool yourself for a minute in thinking that this fish isn’t important. For example, the spotted bass was directly responsible for winning the 2015 Bassmaster Classic, among other tournaments in recent history. On top of that, this potential new world record puts the spotted bass in the spotlight for the fishing community.
Lou Ferrante, of Sparks, Nevada caught the 10.95-pound monster spot beating the old record of 10.48 pounds. Currently, Ferrante has submitted paperwork to the International Game and Fish Association for official recognition in August of this year.
