Pigman Takes a Break from Pork to Kill Some Prairie Dogs

What do you do when you’re stuck in eastern Colorado between deer hunts?

Well, if you’re Brian “Pigman” Quaca, you lay the smack down on a bunch of prairie dogs.

Watch the video to see why Pigman likes hunting prairie dogs so much and how many he takes out.

Prairie dogs are found in the Great Plains from Canada to Mexico. Their habit of living in colonies, or “towns,” means that if you find one, there are definitely more in the immediate area.

It also results in days of high volume shooting as these burrowing rodents pop in and out of their holes.

Hunting prairie dogs is a great way to get some time in behind your big game rifle to ensure an accurate shot when the target is a little (or a lot) larger. Plus, as Pigman found out on this hunt, prairie dog hunting is just plain fun.
