The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commision will offer special discounts on fishing licenses next month.
On Dec. 1, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will be offering a discounted rate on fishing licenses that last both three and five years.
Executive Director John Arway told reporters, the special deal is designed to illustrate the affordable nature of fishing licenses and attract more people to the sport.
Since 2012 the commission has offered the three and five year fishing licenses, but never before have they lowered the purchase price.
Also new this year, those who purchase fishing licenses will be issued buttons to wear when they fish. The buttons, when accompanied by a valid paper license, will satisfy the state’s license display requirement.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission typically sells 850,000 fishing licenses annually.
