Pack of Javelina Attacks Arizona Woman and Her Dogs

A wild pack of javelina went after an Arizona woman, apparently unprovoked.

Dangerous wild animal encounters are never far behind the last, and the latest from Arizona is a good refresher on the power and capabilities of a pack of javelina.

An Arizona resident and her dogs were chased and attacked by an unprovoked group of the wild swine, and she fell to the ground at one point and the javelina bit her repeatedly, according to the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

“We are fortunate that the attack was not worse,” said AZGFD spokeswoman Amy Burnett. “Attacks by javelina on humans are rare, but when they happen, public safety is our main concern.”

A serious scene that could have been worse; here’s hoping everyone stays situationally aware of their surroundings anytime they enter the wilderness. You never know.
