Outdoor Survival Education continues to become a growing alternative to traditional P.E. classes, and we love it.
It goes by many different names but essentially outdoor survival education is the process of teaching students the skills they need to not only survive, but to thrive and enjoy their time in the outdoors.
One particular program in North Texas has risen to include over 700 students and consists of a wide variety of wilderness related activities including, hunting, fishing, and camping. Check out the video below to find out more about the school’s program.
Texas is by no means the only place starting to implement outdoor survival education into their schools as viable options to traditional P.E. classes. We are so glad to see things like this becoming more and more popular.
It’s such an amazing way to get youth and young people involved in the outdoors. Here’s to hoping that this is not just a trend but something that is here to stay and will continue to grow and expand for years to come.
