A moose led the Coast Guard and wildlife officials on merry chase through the Port of Quebec.
Port employees at the pulp and paper plant near the Boulevard of the Capuchins on the Old Port of Quebec got a big surprise when they saw a cow moose trot by.
Once the startled men got over the shock, wildlife officials were called in to try and capture the beast, but not before it led them on a bit of a chase through the port.
At one point the estimated three-year-old female jumped about 15-20 feet into the harbor and started its swim.
Conservation officers were still able to tranquilize the animal and follow it until they could subdue the moose and get it to shore. After that it was collected and removed to a safe location for release.
