Watching ten men empty the ocean of tuna will leave you gnashing your teeth.
I don’t know too many people out there that don’t care for tuna in some fashion, but I’m sure they exist. When you watch how one group of fishermen catch them it will leave you in awe one moment, and have you quite angry the next.
First watch the amazing and simple way that they fill their boat, and then decide if we can allow such a practice to continue just so we can have that tasty sandwich.
First of all, that’s not some heinous commercial trawler with illegal gill nets raking in every living thing that crosses its path. Grudgingly, I have to admit that if you’re going to ‘fish’ for tuna, it better be with a pole… which is pretty much what these guys are doing.
The problem is, there just has to be some kind of limit, you know, like you and I have to adhere to? I’ll leave it at this: don’t ever be angry when you see a legitimate charter come to the pier with happy clients and some sweet tuna because they could have stuck to the law and the legal limit!
