Officials are discussing Ohio hunting season changes concerning gun and muzzleloader start dates.
Recently, state officials met to discuss the Ohio hunting season and potential changes to the gun and muzzleloader starting dates this winter.
The proposed changes to the Ohio hunting season were discussed at a recent meeting of the Ohio Wildlife Council. Many believe that the current dates coincide with holiday travel plans.
If the changes take effect then the Ohio hunting season will take on the following date alterations: the December gun hunting will be Dec. 28 to 29, and muzzleloader season will run from Jan. 9 to 12; while the youth deer-gun season would be held during the third weekend in November, and commencement of the fall wild turkey season would shift to Oct. 10 from Oct. 12.
Next month the council is expected to vote on the proposed changes to the Ohio hunting season.
