Tourist Trap? Bears Walk on Hind Legs for Nothing But Treats

Street FX Motorsport & Graphics

When you see two brown bears walking upright to get treats from a moving tour bus, you know that something’s just not right.

Watching brown bears in the wild is a pretty astonishing sight. Actually, I take that back. Watching any animal in the wild is a pretty astonishing thing. What’s not so astonishing is watching animals that have been in captivity for too long behave like they’re in a circus.

Watch how this group of bears acts as a group of tourists pulls through the area.

Call it what you want, but that just wasn’t natural.

If you’re looking for a real brown bear sighting and have some time for a serious world class excursion, check out what the team at Abercrombie and Kent can put together for you in the great state of Alaska.

For nine days, you’ll be guided through some of the most scenic locations in the state, including a visit to Redoubt Bay Bear Sanctuary. After you take in some seriously close bear encounters, you’ll be guided through the Denali National Park, which almost guarantees a few close sightings of wolves, moose and yes, more bears.

Now that’s what a real bear sighting should be like! Who wants to go?
