A New York Police Officer Helps a Distressed Skunk; Hilarity Ensues [VIDEO]

This police officer saves a young skunk with its head in a yogurt cup, and it’s pretty funny.

On Sunday, Officer Merlin Taylor with the Rochester Police Department received a call to help an animal in distress. He arrived at the scene to find a young skunk blindly running in circles with a yogurt cup stuck on his head.

Hilarity ensues as Taylor attempts to remove the cup from the skunk without getting sprayed. Here is the dash-cam footage the Rochester Police Department posted to their Facebook page:

Lucky for Officer Taylor, the skunk was so young it wouldn’t have been capable of spraying him yet. But anyone would have run like that if a skunk raised its tail.

Officer Taylor is known throughout the Rochester Police Department for his knack at saving animals. Several years ago the officer rescued a group of baby ducklings that had fallen down a sewer drain.

This is one officer who is going above and beyond the call of duty to help others. Both people and animals should both feel safer knowing they have the help of Officer Taylor on their side.
