New Line Class World Record Striped Bass Caught in New York

Yes, it's only a line class world record, but hey, it's still a big fish!

Very recently, rumors of a new line class world record striped bass started circulating around social media channels and bait shops. Until now, no pictures had emerged, but the IGFA just made it all official. As of today, this giant striped bass is still considered to be pending, however, there's not much stopping it from taking the top spot.

As you can see from an IGFA Facebook post, this is one big fish.

Jesse Wynn's new line class world record striped bass weighed in at 47 lb 11 oz. The previous record in this category was just over 45 pounds. Even though this is a big fish, it is a long way away from the overall world record. That monster weighed in at an incredible, 81.88 pounds.
Congrats Jesse! This is one accomplishment to really be proud of!
