Talk about karma! This guy shot himself in the foot while camping, and now faces weapons charges.
A South Plainsfield man faces a variety of weapons charges after accidentally shooting himself in the foot while camping in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Patrick Monahan, 55, was arrested September 10 after seeking medical attention at a walk-in clinic for a gunshot wound to his right foot.
Monahan told Green Brook police officers what had taken place, and also that his gun was in his parked vehicle outside the medical facility.
A search warrant turned up a loaded Para 1911 .45 caliber pistol along with two loaded magazines, two ballistic vests and a pair of handcuffs. It was also discovered that Monahan does not possess a New Jersey Firearms Identification Card and is not employed by law enforcement.
Monahan has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to have weapons, and possession of handcuffs. Bail has been set at $75,000.
