No doubt about it, the new Jeep truck just jumped to the top of the wish list.
Two years ago, I bought my first Jeep Wrangler. It was a brand new 2014 Unlimited. Ever since I was a child, I told myself I was going to own one, then finally when the stars aligned and I did, I’ll remember driving off that lot for the rest of my life, especially my wife screaming out of the window and “Jeep waving” everyone on the way home. Now, the new Jeep truck just might have become my next goal in life.
Officially debuting in 2017, with potential sales starting in 2018, Fiat Chrysler announced at the recent Detroit Auto Show that they are in fact moving forward with a Jeep truck. At that moment, angels were heard singing from Heaven.
Exact details are hard to come by at the moment, but more clarification, specs, and maybe even a price tag have been promised as recently as next month. It has even been alleged that the official name is going to be the Jeep “JK Scrambler”, named in honor of the CJ-8, in production from 1981 to 1986.
Regardless of the details, there is little doubt that this new Jeep truck is going to be one be baddest deer hunting, elk chasing, coyote stomping, Bigfoot capturing vehicles on the market. Potentially, if it is anything like the Wrangler, it will be able to go anywhere at anytime, and ask for more.
Unfortunately, again, if it is anything like the Wrangler, it will be absolutely murder on gas, but fuel economy is low on the list for most people that own a Jeep anyways.
I was planning on buying a new truck in the next few years. Considering how hard it is to pry the Jeep keys away from my wife, looks like the stars just might be aligning once again.
